Autopay (UPI or Card)
On a fixed fee plan, Autopay asks the parent to approve a recurring UPI debit, or save a card for automatic billing, so that plan's fees charge automatically from then on. Available on Starter and above, and only when a gateway that supports it is connected — Razorpay or PhonePe for UPI, Stripe for card billing outside India. Session-based fee plans do not show this option.
- Open the fee plan.
- Under Payment collection, tick UPI Autopay (or Card Autopay, if Stripe is your connected gateway).
- Parents receive a WhatsApp link, and an email if one is on file, to approve the mandate or save their card. Each parent approves their own child's mandate, so students without a parent phone number are skipped.
The fee plan list shows Autopay pending, active, partial, failed, or cancelled. Parents get an alert 24 hours before each debit. If a debit fails after the gateway's retries, the fee returns to Outstanding and the parent gets a pay-manually message with a fresh link. Autopay works on Monthly, Quarterly, Half-yearly, Yearly, Every-4-weeks and Custom plans. You can cancel from the same plan, and parents can cancel in their UPI app. For UPI mandates, a request above ₹15,000 needs an extra OTP or biometric step in the parent's UPI app, or it cannot be approved — this extra step does not apply to card autopay.
Connect Razorpay, PhonePe, or Stripe under Settings, in the notifications area — whichever your organisation uses for parent fee collection. Organisations outside India pay for the TuitionDesk subscription itself in USD via PayPal; that is separate from parent fee collection.
